What Xpeak does with your words.
Privacy Policy, effective 8 September 2026. Questions: info@xpeak.ing.
The short version
Xpeak has no accounts. Your recordings, scores and history live on your phone. To read what you said, the app sends your audio and words to the services named below for the moment it takes to transcribe, coach or voice them. Under their API terms these providers do not use your data to train their models and keep it only briefly, for abuse monitoring, before deleting it. We do not sell data, we do not advertise, and we do not track you.
What the app collects, and why
- Your voice. Xpeak records you when you tap the record control, and only then. The recording is transcribed and analysed so the coach can read your words and your delivery.
- Your words. The transcript of what you said, and the phone's measurements of your delivery (pace, pauses, fillers), are sent to the coaching model to produce the stronger version, the why lines and your score.
- Your progress. Scores, sessions, the words you overuse and your programme are stored on your phone in the app's own store. They never leave the phone.
- Recordings you keep. When "Keep recordings" or "Record calls" is on, the audio is stored on your phone so you can play it back from History. Turn either off in You, Privacy, and the audio is deleted after each reading.
Who processes your data
- OpenAI transcribes your audio and, on a live call, carries the conversation with the persona in real time. Audio is sent for that purpose only.
- Anthropic runs the coach: your transcript and delivery measurements are sent as text and the stronger version comes back.
- ElevenLabs turns the stronger version into the coach's voice: text goes in, audio comes back.
- Apple handles your membership through the App Store. We never see your payment details.
We send nothing that identifies you: no name, no email, no account, no device identifier.
What we do not do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no email collection inside the app.
- No advertising, no analytics trackers, no third-party SDKs, no cross-app tracking.
- No selling or sharing of your data with anyone other than the processors above, for the purposes above.
Choices you have
- Transcribe on this phone only. In You, Privacy, you can keep transcription on the phone. The coach still needs your words as text to read them.
- Keep recordings, record calls. Both are switches in You, Privacy. Off means audio is deleted after each reading.
- Start over. In You, this deletes your scores, sessions, recordings and profile from the phone.
- Delete the app. Everything Xpeak stored goes with it.
Permissions
Xpeak asks for the microphone to hear you and for speech recognition to write your words down on the phone. Notifications are optional, for your daily reminder. Nothing is requested at launch; each permission is asked at the moment it is needed.
Children
Xpeak is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes, and material changes are noted inside the app.
